Back to: 40 Film Scoring With Logic Pro
Here’s a discussion I had with a friend of mine, film composer and orchestrator Bryan Arata (IMDB, YouTube).
He’s worked as a composer’s assistant on Family Guy & American Dad and orchestrated music on a little film called Guardians of the Galaxy II, just to name a couple.
Look for his name in the credits and you can say you know him.
Sit back and see what you can learn from this chat where he brings his tips and techniques straight from Hollywood to Summit Tech!
Before we begin
I will say that several of his tips are advice for budding composers who may even have a little bit of money in the budget to buy their own software plugins and sample libraries.
That said, we can simulate a lot of the techniques he talks about using the default tools in Logic X.
When appropriate, throughout the video, I show you (quickly) how to do some of the techniques.
In conclusion…
Feel free to send Bryan a message through the interwebs if you’ve found anything helpful or if you have more questions.
Since he’s a former educator, he always loves to share his advice.
Thanks for watching and let me know if I can help clarify anything we talked about. I know it happened fast.
