When we begin filming projects, it’s always a good idea to get more footage than you need. This is called having good coverage.
One way to do this is to file the idea of a 5-shot sequence into the back of your mind. We’ll cover that today — and more!
✅ For reference, the 5-shot sequence is in your DMT Notebook (p. 93)
In today’s Quest, we’re going to cover the following:
- Refresh: How to set the exposure for video and how it’s different than photography
- The role the lenses zoom setting plays in how the image looks
- The importance of using a tripod
- Project: Five Shot Sequence
- 4.1 Students will be able to use techniques for effective coverage such as the 5-shot sequence.
- 1.2 Students will be able to demonstrate correct use of exposure triangle when capturing properly exposed photos/video.
- 1.5 Students will be able to understand camera controls and functions that allow for correct image exposure for photography and film.
